    Job Summary

    The Lead Enterprise Interface Engineer is a member of the Enterprise Data and Interface team, which provides strategic and tactical decision support to stakeholders at all levels of Avera Health. The Engineer leverages advanced knowledge of, and experience with, Meditech EMR workflows and processes and provides guidance to the members of the Enterprise Integration Engineers team to develop complex integration solutions.

    The Engineer is an expert and thought leader in the application and use of complex systems by customers and uses that knowledge to inform designs while continually working to increase his or her knowledge of customers’ needs in a constantly evolving health care environment.

    The Engineer is a subject matter expert and innovator for all aspects of the Enterprise Data and Interface Team and acts as a mentor to other Engineers by providing formal class-room training, fostering innovation, participating in design and code reviews and providing technological and procedural guidance wherever sought or needed.

    The Engineer is expert in the use of the tools and techniques employed for data integration at Avera, such as Interface Engines. He or she continually strives to better his or her understanding and competency with the range of tools used by the organization and recommends new technologies and techniques as they become available.

    The Engineer is an expert in the field of data sciences and possesses comprehensive knowledge of specific data elements involved in systems integration, data analysis/mapping experience in normalizing disparate data sets, as well as appropriate technical knowledge of hardware, software and networks. He or she leads work in designing, implementing and presenting solutions to complex data analysis requirements.

    This position requires a strong team player who can interact effectively and confidently with all levels of co-workers, clinicians and management. Expert troubleshooting, project planning, documentation, written and verbal communication abilities are fundamental skill sets used in this position.

    The Lead Enterprise Interface Engineer is a highly technical role requiring proven analytical and problem solving skills, technical and procedural leadership abilities and expert knowledge of business, clinical and general health care operational environments.

    Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area.

  • Post graduate study (Master’s degree, doctorate) or at least five years of equivalent experience.

  • Extensive business experience interacting with teams, clinicians, executives and stake-holders.

  • Professional experience executing complex work streams, work packages and deliverables.

  • Extensive experience planning, scheduling and estimating time and effort.

  • Expert verbal and written communicator at all levels of an organization.

  • Advanced knowledge of HL7 and Interface Engines

  • Advanced experience with the following tools: Meditech Report Designer, NPR, Summit Scripting

  • Professional experience with troubleshooting and rectifying issues with complex systems and code structures.

  • Extensive experience in compiling reports and presentations in multiple media and formats.

  • Demonstrated expertise working as a closely integrated member of a project team.

  • Extensive experience as a technological mentor and instructor for colleagues, co-workers and other team members.

    Certifications, Licensures and/or Registrations

  • This position requires a valid driver’s license and that the employee is insurable by the Avera Health automobile liability insurance carrier. Exceptional departmental needs may be considered to waive the valid driver's license requirement.

    Work Schedule

  • 8:00am-5:00pm, occasional weekend/holiday/call; 80 hours every 2 weeks

    Pay

    The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

  • $35.00 - $53.00 per hour
