Description We are looking for an experienced and diligent Accounting Manager/Supervisor based in Roachdale, Indiana. This role involves managing the daily accounting processes, supervising clerical accounting staff, and preparing for rolling financials up to corporate. The individual will also be expected to work closely with Project Managers and the Controller, and may involve some travel to corporate offices.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the accounting system including billing, AR, cash receipts, collections, AP, general ledger, internal controls, and audits.

• Assist the Controller in maintaining contracts and job cost schedules within the accounting system.

• Review contracts to ensure jobs are properly set up in the accounting system and billing requirements are met.

• Manage the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.

• Coordinate with Project Managers monthly to ensure we are billing for all costs timely and properly.

• Review job progress monthly with Project Managers and prepare monthly job progress billings as per each customer’s requirements.

• Monitor receivables and contact customers for payment status. Communicate any collection issues with the Controller and Project Managers.

• Maintain bank reconciliations monthly.

• Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules monthly.

• Maintain prepaids and other balance sheet reconciliations monthly.

• Record job cost reclassifications as needed following analysis of job cost reports and transactions.

• Annually prepare audit contract revenue confirmations.

• Fixed Asset Accounting Requirements • Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role within the accounting sector for at least 5 years

• Proficiency in accounting functions and understanding of best practices

• Familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes

• Expertise in auditing procedures and principles

• Proficiency in using accounting software such as Sage 300 and QuickBooks

• Experience in managing Month End Close activities

• Understanding of percentage (%) of completion accounting method

• Knowledge in Construction Accounting and Job Cost

• Proven experience in direct supervision and supervising teams

• Experience in Account Reconciliation and Bank Reconciliations processes

• Familiarity with Fixed Asset Accounting

• Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills

• A professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is preferred

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting or Finance

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
