The Motor Grader Machine Integration Technology Lead (internally known as Engineering Project Team Leader) is accountable for developing and integrating technology solutions on current and future generation machines, which includes robust integration of all machine systems for superior machine performance, meeting product quality objectives, defining and achieving machine variable cost objectives, and delivering against overall product development project schedules. The holder of this position is responsible for ensuring the machine technical specifications are in alignment with customer and business requirements. They lead and participate on teams throughout the enterprise, as needed, to make certain the machine is developed and manufactured to meet customer requirements.

The Integration Lead will have outstanding technical skill and engineering judgment, demonstrated by delivering results in technically challenging assignments in design, machine development or research, or component development. This leader must have excellent technical communication skills and demonstrated team leader capability. They must display a strong passion for building a constructive culture within Caterpillar, developing superior products, and continually improving design and development capability.

What You Will Do:

  • Successfully execute complex new product development programs from proof-of-concept to production, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery while surpassing requirements.

  • Lead and coordinate a global team of indirect reports in developing comprehensive project and requirements, navigating intricate technical trade-offs, and decisively bringing projects to fruition.

  • Offer innovative solutions to technical obstacles by leveraging robust technical expertise and exemplary leadership skills.

  • Serve as a technical contributor and lead design, machine development or research, or component development.

  • Effectively communicate project results and status updates to stakeholders, fostering transparency and alignment.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members to elevate their technical proficiency and facilitate the provision of superior technical solutions.

What You Have (Basic Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Engineering curriculum.

  • Extensive industry experience in construction or manufacturing, providing a deep understanding of industry dynamics and challenges for effectively delivering superior Products and Services.

  • Proven proficiency in integrating electrical/electronic components, with a focus on Technical Excellence .

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, facilitating effective stakeholder engagement and team collaboration, crucial for Influencing Through Expertise .

  • Strong team management skills, evidenced by successful leadership of global teams, a critical requirement for effective Team Management in this position. Can be gained through indirect leadership, mentorship or project management on a global level.

Top Candidates Will Have :

  • An accredited Master of Science degree in engineering.

  • Extensive experience in engineering, manufacturing, or machine test.

  • Successful completion of 6 Sigma DMAIC and DMEDI Black Belt training.

  • 6 Sigma Black Belt certification.

  • Concurrent Product and Process Design & New Product Introduction experience.

  • Project Management training and experience developing schedules.

  • Experience with Motor Grader product development in a system design or test team.

Additional Info :

  • 10-15% domestic and international travel is expected.

  • Domestic relocation is available to those who qualify.

  • ISE assignments are not available.
