Job Title: Staff Engineer, Test Development

Location: 10950 85th Avenue N, Suite A, Maple Grove, MN 55369

Pay and benefits: Range is $99-154k/yr, 15% bonus incentive, over exceeded our numbers 165%, includes benefits. 50% match 401k to their 6%, three weeks PTO

Job Summary:

  • The Staff Engineer, Test Development designs, develops and implements automatic test equipment and test programs for product testing and design verification which ensure robust and high quality assembled products in manufacturing.

  • The role requires establishing test strategies and architecting test solutions based on product design specifications and production test requirements. The position will include direct onsite development, as well as interaction with global support teams capable of assisting with project development activity.

  • Projects support customers in several end markets including Industrial, Healthcare and Aerospace & Defense. Experience with the relevant product technologies and development processes in these segments is a important asset.

  • Detailed Description

  • Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Lead the development and implementation of technical solutions for complex projects, involving multiple domains and participate in project planning and scheduling.

  • Provides technical leadership and direction to a team of engineers. May be are cognized expert (go to person) in one or more technical areas

  • Take responsibility for non-technical elements of an engineering project(people, financials etc.)

  • Review and interpret customer requirements/specifications and may act as primary customer contract.

  • Analyze tradeoffs in complex systems and recommend solutions. Develop deployment strategies and plans.

  • Lead the deployment of strategic programs and coordinate site-wide deployment efforts.

  • May manage relationships with key vendors/partners.

  • Establish short term and long term investment and skill development strategies and business cases with global impact to organization

  • Develop production test strategies based on product design specification

  • Design and develop test solutions including hardware & software elements and then system integration, qualification, and installation to meet product, quality and test requirements outlined in the test plan.

  • Debug of tester issues using design of experiments, tools, and failure analysis methodologies

  • Execute all validation/qualification requirements by applying statistical and common industry methods

  • Stabilization of Test Solutions for manufacturing working to optimize with process teams focusing on cycle time and yield.

  • Test developers may also work with product design teams with feedback from product testability, test coverage, diagnosability, reparability, firmware/diagnostics and user experience.

Project Management

  • Ability to manage/lead complex, multiple line engineering projects that may also involve other functions. Demonstrate solid understanding of the technical, financial and people aspects of the project. Able to create a project/change management plan and ensure that the project is delivered within the assigned time and budget. Ability to recognize project barriers and develop mitigation plans

  • Financial Acumen / Business Planning

  • Ability to create financial plans for your projects, align them internally with your line of management and other functions and externally if needed. Create project plans, profitability calculations, risk and sensitivity analysis, able to recognize barriers and mitigate profitability risks. Fully knowledgeable about internal and external financial reporting, accounting and tax requirements relevant to your area of expertise.

  • Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.

  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.

  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

  • Occasional travel may be required.

Typical Experience

  • 7 to 10 years of related experience; Experience in similar job roles

  • 4-10 PCBAs in Aerospace

  • Typical Education

  • Bachelor's Degree

Pay Details: $99,000.00 to $154,000.00 per year
