Abbott Director, Standards, Traceability & Supply Chain Management in Maple Grove, Minnesota

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Strategic Leadership : This role is responsible for providing strategic guidance and supervision for the GS1 Healthcare Leadership, serialization, GDSN/UDI, and Supply Chain warehouse distribution. It also oversees transportation and customs solutions, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.

Relationship Management : A crucial aspect of this position is to cultivate and sustain relationships with executives across various sectors of the enterprise. These sectors include, but are not limited to, Commercial, Supply Chain, Regulatory, and Business & Technology Services. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills to foster strong, productive relationships.

Solution Development and Implementation : The director holds the primary responsibility for the creation, execution, and support of robust and compliant solutions. This involves a keen understanding of the organization’s needs and the ability to translate these into effective strategies and solutions.

Governance and Process Development : The director is tasked with ensuring governance and developing processes and practices surrounding the implementation and utilization of solutions. This includes a strong focus on leveraging and supporting the GS1 standards and standard processes, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement and standardization.

Core Job Responsibilities

Supply Chain Excellence : Spearhead the development of a center of excellence for supply chain management, with a particular emphasis on Warehouse Management solutions, Supply and Demand planning tools, Transportation Management, and customs solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics and the ability to implement effective strategies.

Enterprise Serialization and Traceability : Oversee the Enterprise serialization and traceability program, collaborating with division teams to ensure alignment with Global Traceability guidelines. This responsibility requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of traceability.

Global Representation : Act as a representative of Abbott, showcasing thought leadership at Global Standards summits and liaising with key regulatory agencies globally. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex ideas clearly and effectively.

GDSN & UDI Program Governance : Govern the GDSN & UDI program, working closely with division teams to align with Global standards guidelines. This responsibility requires a deep understanding of global data standards and the ability to implement them effectively.

Compliance Management : Ensure compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional policies, processes, and procedures. Where necessary, introduce new compliance documents to maintain the organization’s commitment to regulatory adherence.

Budget Management : Manage the group’s operating and program budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and financial sustainability. This role requires strong financial acumen and the ability to make strategic financial decisions.

Education and Experience You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Preferred

  • A minimum of 9 years of functional experience is required, including expertise in business processes and analysis. This should include at least 6 years of experience managing cross-divisional projects, with a focus on 3+ years of combined leadership roles.

  • Experience in multi-divisional or cross-functional program management is essential. This includes the ability to coordinate and manage projects across different departments or divisions.

  • Proven experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously is required. This includes the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and deliver results on time.

  • Strong quantitative and analytical thinking skills are necessary. This includes the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.

  • Strong capabilities in relationship and client management are essential. This includes the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, and the ability to think strategically to meet client needs.

  • The ability to provide leadership for the implementation of guidelines and processes to ensure seamless transitions is required.

  • Experience in driving communications concerning implementation plans at the enterprise, divisional, and country level is necessary. This includes the ability to effectively communicate complex information to various stakeholders.

  • Strategic experience in data management and data analysis is required. This includes the ability to manage and analyze large datasets to inform strategic decisions.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in global standards, serialization, and traceability standards is required. This includes the ability to understand and apply these standards in various contexts.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain solutions is required. This includes the ability to develop and implement effective supply chain strategies and solutions.

  • The role requires a highly motivated and results-driven director who is fueled by a strong foundation in analytical thinking. This individual should be driven by the desire to achieve and exceed goals.

  • Proficiency in budget management including the ability to plan, allocate, and control financial resources effectively to achieve organizational objectives.

  • The ability to develop and implement strategic plans including setting clear objectives, identifying opportunities, making informed decisions, and executing plans effectively.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively to various stakeholders.

  • Excellent negotiation skills are required. This involves the ability to reach mutually beneficial agreements through effective dialogue and persuasion.

  • The role requires excellent analytical and conceptual skills. This includes the ability to understand complex issues, identify patterns, generate insights, and develop innovative solutions.

  • Strong program management and team building skills including the ability to lead and manage projects effectively, foster teamwork, and build a positive and productive work environment.

  • Experience in developing and executing program objectives is essential. This involves setting clear goals, planning activities, monitoring progress, and achieving desired outcomes.

  • The role requires a self-directed individual who can work independently with minimal supervision. This involves taking initiative, managing one’s own time and tasks, and demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite tools and SharePoint is required. This involves the ability to use these tools effectively for various tasks such as data analysis, document creation, and collaboration

The base pay for this position is $162,000.00 – $324,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
