JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Center for Dairy Research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (CDR) is hiring an Assistant Coordinator for our Cheese Industry and Applications Group. The Client Based Researcher II will be working at the UW-Madison Center for Dairy Research including trials that occur in the cheese pilot plant and dairy processing areas. This position is like no other in the dairy industry. This exciting position will be working in a team environment with other cheesemakers and dairy processors where research, product development, troubleshooting, innovation, training, and working with clients from around the world allows for significant personal growth. This position will be learning about exciting new innovations in the dairy industry through internal and external training opportunities. This person will design and setup cheesemaking experiments/trials to meet research or industry objectives, including meeting with clients to prepare an initial scope of work, selecting appropriate analytical testing, assisting licensed cheesemakers in conducting the trial, reviewing results/data from these trials and preparing reports for clients. This person will present results at meetings and short courses and support graduate student research projects. In addition, duties could include plant visits for trials or troubleshooting, as well as research. The selected candidate will have excellent customer service skills, be detail oriented, and have the ability to multitask. A key focus for this person will be on assisting specialty cheese, their manufacture, client assistance and training programs, and overseeing the CDR specialty cheese caves.
