Job Summary

This position serves as the Regional Healthcare Preparedness Coordinator for the Northwest Health Services Coalition. Responsible for maintaining the hospital preparedness program in the northwest region with partner members from a variety of disciplines. With the support of the Coalition membership and advisory committee, the Regional Healthcare Preparedness Coordinator develops the emergency support systems of the members and responses to developing issues. Maintains awareness of disasters and risks that will influence development of the appropriate response/recovery protocols. Updates as needed dependent upon regional, state, and national events and trends. Acts proactively and is response ready for imminent hazard situations (natural, human, and technological disasters). Finalizes and monitors the annual work program of the region to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, establishes program priorities, and completes key issues identified by the advisory committee and assists in finalizing the Coalition budget. Reviews financial transactions, contracts, and financial reports and completes invoices. Maintains active communications with local, state, and federal officials and other constituent groups.

Develops and conducts a minimum of three annual exercises (periodic full-scale and functional exercises which includes partner participation).

Participates in committees, meetings, and boards as required. Develops, conducts, and facilitates appropriate training opportunities to enhance local emergency management programs and offers opportunities for partners to participate in disaster mitigation, planning, response, and recovery related training. Provides regular information dissemination to members such as coalition email updates, all-partner meetings, and advisory committee meetings. Updates the Coalition All-Hazards plan and exercises annually with member involvement in appropriate sections.

Plans and prepares for a Health Multi Agency Coordination Group (HMACG) that can be activated in times of need. Maintains ability to appropriately respond to regional disasters including maintenance of appropriate mutual aid and memorandums of understanding.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in emergency management, business administration, EMS, healthcare emergency preparedness, public administration, or closely related field required.

Five years of experience related to emergency management required. Experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.). Understanding of incident command.

Valid Minnesota driver's license and access to reliable transportation required.
